Where you call HOME So we can deliver hospice care where ever someone calls HOME

Host a Walk

Gather a group of 2 or 202 and  bring this event to you and those you wish to share a special evening of collective healing.  Remembering those who we have loved and lost.  When you Host a Walk this is your chance to ensure the compassionate care HHA can offer at end of life to be available where you call home... Not IF your time comes but WHEN your time comes.

Being able to die wherever you call home DOES matter....

  • Families can host a great Halloween party…in July

  • Loved ones are able to gather by the bedside with no restrictive visiting policies

  • 911 is not called in fear

 

Help Home Hospice make this a  reality for every dying member of your community by bringing Moonlit Memory Walk to where you call home.​

What is involved in Hosting a Moonlit Memory Walk?

 

  • Create an invitation list of family, friends, colleagues and neighbours

  • Promote the reasons for your hosted walk - compassion, tribute, shared experience

  • Share who you are walking in Memory of whether a person or group you want to honour

  • Create an evening experience using the host kit provided to you 

  • Sign on with your group to the Live Stream Opening Ceremonies and Loved One Memorial 

  • Walk with your group 

  • Participate in the post walk reception

Making a hospice bed wherever someone lays their head has meant individuals in some of the loneliest places, including wards in our hospitals, have not died alone or in distress.

 

That is thanks to past participants making the Moonlit Memory Walk an important priority.

 

Will you make this event important to you and those close to you?  

When October 28, 2023 draws to a close and you are thinking back to your decision to host a Walk, you will feel so proud to know you helped us draw the circle even wider to bring our “for anyone ~ of any age ~ at any time ~ under any roof” commitment to life for the thousands who need us most.

This event offers a unique opportunity to grow a loved one’s legacy.  Through the development of a tribute page, fundraising by asking for an in-memoriam donation and communicating to those who support you that in your loved one’s name Home Hospice Association is able to ease the suffering of our dying and those who love them.  It all begins with telling their story, remembering that they lived.

The Next Steps:

​

  • Register your Host Walk on the Moonlit Memory Walk Website by creating a Team.  You may name your team anything you wish and identifies who will be joining you at your event.

  • Tell a story of your team

  • Create your Personal Fundraising Page

  • Invite your guests and encourage them to create their fundraising page(s)

  • Reach out to your Moonlit Memory Walk support person by emailing info@homehospiceassociation.com to plan for the delivery of our Host Walk Kit

  • A Marketing Kit to help promote your walk and encourage walkers

  • Tribute video highlighting the loved ones your guests are walking for

  • One prize basket per 20 people participating

  • A Ceremonial Ribbon to start your walk
