2023 Moonlit Memory Walk Event Details

Don’t miss this year’s family-friendly event

2023 Theme: It Takes a Village

It is hard to find anyone who has not grieved the loss of a loved one. Whether it is a family member, a friend, a co-worker, or a beloved pet, we have all mourned a life that is now with us only in spirit. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, that village is as necessary at the end of life as it is at the beginning. Our 2023 theme reminds us of the important work done by Home Hospice Association in the communities we serve, and that the dollars we raise are directly benefitting those facing death, and those who love them.

This ever-growing community (village) of hospice care supporters ensures that Home Hospice Association can continue offering services to those who will start their end-of-life journey.

Walk for Life

Home Hospice Association hosts this event to create a space for collective healing. This is how we walk for life; this how we live life in the face of death. The Moonlit Memory Walk is an opportunity for the legacy of loved ones to live on in the memories of others.  Part of their legacy - the continuation of their life, is the end of life care Home Hospice Association provides for anyone, of any age, at any time, under any roof when a cure is no longer possible. This walk for life invites all to come together in celebration of those loved ones, while supporting individual and collective healing through our 2023 event.

I am not my diagnosis

No one wants to be known by their diagnosis in life, why would we make their memory one of that which killed them? Let’s remember that they lived, not how they died.

On October 28 2023, under the October full moon, you are encouraged to share memories of your loved one(s) in a safe and welcoming space for mourning.  Those who have felt very alone after losing their loved one may begin to heal as they share their feelings and memories with others.  The event helps to build a new network of support for healing, and supports those who will be grieving the loss of a loved one in the future.

Every step counts ~ every dollar makes a difference

The goal of the event is to raise funds to support Home Hospice Association’s work in our communities.   Our Mission and Vision

We believe in providing quality end of life care in a holistic, culturally sensitive manner.

We believe in normalizing death through education to professionals, children, families, and communities.

We believe in supporting the dying, their loved ones, and those who care for them in grief and bereavement.

We believe in a future where we will have forever changed end-of-life care.

Do you believe? If the answer is yes, join our 2023 event and make this goal part of the legacy of your loved one(s).
