The Moonlit Memory Walk, Wherever You Are
Your Walk Your Way is how the Moonlit Memory Walk reaches across Canada — into every community, every story, and every step taken in memory of someone loved.

Whether you walk a trail, a sidewalk, a school track, or your living room, your walk matters. Your grief matters. And your fundraising changes lives.

What is “Your Walk Your Way?”
Your Walk Your Way is a self-led version of the Moonlit Memory Walk — a way to gather friends, family, coworkers, or walk solo in honour of someone you miss. You choose the time, place, and style of your walk.
Ideas for An Evening Gathering
Each idea would take about two hours from start to finish which would mean a suggested 6:00 start time to be able to join at 8:00 for our Online Memorial.
For example:

Moonrise Moment
As the moon rises, we pause together to honor the names and memories we carry. Whether by lighting a lantern, holding a flower, or speaking a loved one’s name aloud, this gentle ritual gathers us into one circle of remembrance. No matter where or how we walk, we are united in love, memory, and hope.

Dine & Dialogue
Under La Lune du Chasseur—the Hunter’s Moon—we gather for a shared meal and open-hearted conversation. Dine & Dialogue is an invitation to sit together and talk about life, death, grief, and what matters most… or simply to listen in good company. Everyone is welcome. Every question is welcome. Every silence is welcome.
Can we walk alone? With others? Any day? Any time?
Yes. You can walk in the way that feels most meaningful—alone in quiet reflection, side by side with loved ones, or surrounded by your wider community. Some will choose to walk under the Hunter’s Moon, long honored in European, Indigenous, and Métis traditions as a time of transition and gathering. Others may walk on a different day, or honour in a different way, guided by what feels right for their remembrance.

To bring us all together, we invite you to join the virtual memorial event on October 7—a shared moment of reflection and remembrance that connects walkers across the country. Whenever and however you walk, you are part of a national community with a local heart. Your steps join thousands across Canada, each walking in memory of someone loved and in support of compassionate end-of-life care.
